A note on someone who DOESN'T represent me.

You all may remember my earlier post this year on Sally Kern's husband and his idiotic (and backfiring) attempt to censor a play in Oklahoma City.   I have to admit, I couldn't stand his wife long before I took issue with him.   This venomous couple have been the scourge of gays in Oklahoma City for many years now, and here's the the latest from Mrs. Kern's facebook page.

Here are my thoughts on Judge Kern's (no relation by the way) decision declaring Oklahoma's constitutional amendment defining marriage as being between one man and one woman unconstitutional. The basic question here is NOT one of equality. All are created equal by God. He loves all of us equally. In America all US citizens have the same rights under the law. The real question here is this. Is Christianity and God's Word true or not? Either it is or it isn't. The Bible declares that Christ died for our sins. Yet we are to believe today that homosexuality and its push for same sex marriage is no longer a sin. We are told that homosexuals are born that way and this is who they are. The truth is that we are all born sinners and are capable of doing whatever our sinful nature desires if we choose to follow it. The essence of Christianity is that we let Christ live in and through us and, as the Bible says, die daily to our sinful nature. No one wants to die daily to their sinful nature. So when we fulfill the lusts of the flesh, we can do all kinds of things. Another important question is this. Is homosexuality who a person is because they are born that way or is it something they do? In other words, a behavior that is engaged in. One way to see that it is a behavior is to do the Sexual Sin Substitute Test. For instance, there are Gay Pride Clubs in schools. Why isn't there Porn Pride Clubs, or Incest Pride Clubs? Why in society at large isn't there Adultery Pride Organizations. You get the point, I hope. Homosexuality is the only sexual sin that we have come to accept as "normal." Why is this? It is because there has been an orchestrated campaign to convince the public that homosexuality is natural and normal. That it is a civil right just like race. Repeat a lie often enough and people will see it as true. So this brings me back to my original question: Is Christianity and God's Word true or not? I choose to believe that God's Word is the same yesterday, today, and forever and that Christianity is the truth because it is embodied in the Person of Jesus Christ who is The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Remember this, people who hate the truth call truth hate. They will mock us, belittle us, call us names all because they hate the truth. Telling people the truth does not mean you hate them. It is really the only way to genuinely love someone.

Let's dissect this piece of garbage:
All are created equal by God. He loves all of us equally. In America all US citizens have the same rights under the law.
And yet you continually try to thwart this.  Are you opposing God?

The real question here is this. Is Christianity and God's Word true or not? Either it is or it isn't.

Somehow I don't think we're talking about the same God most of the time, but go on.

No one wants to die daily to their sinful nature

Actually, Sally, some of us never believed it was a sin. Or believed it was a sin so briefly in our youth that we're embarrassed we used to agree with you because God so soundly whipped our ass for being so stupid.  I mean, so thoroughly revealed through my brothers and sisters in Christ that he works in ALL of us and that good 'fruit' cannot come from bad trees...  Yeah, I can clean that up, but it was an emotional and intellectual SPANKING and no amount of pretty theological language can really change that.

But seriously, Mrs. Kern, not everyone in Oklahoma is a Christian and not everyone even pretends to want to die daily to their sinful nature. Why the hell should our government get to impose this on us?  I think repentance works better when it comes from within.

So when we fulfill the lusts of the flesh, we can do all kinds of things. Another important question is this. Is homosexuality who a person is because they are born that way or is it something they do? In other words, a behavior that is engaged in. Are you stupid?  A porn pride club?  Who wants to watch porn with other people?  Most guys I know do that like normal people ... alone.

But I'm back to my original point.  Are you stupid?  Do we prosecute people for adultery?  Do we forbid them to get married again when they've been whoring about?  Personally, I think that's something they should have to explain to a priest, not a politician, and the same would be true if I thought being in a same sex relationship was a sin.  This is not a matter for public policy.  It is a private matter.

You get the point, I hope. Homosexuality is the only sexual sin that we have come to accept as "normal." Why is this? It is because there has been an orchestrated campaign to convince the public that homosexuality is natural and normal. That it is a civil right just like race. I'm going to tell you the truth. Not exactly in love, I have no warm fuzzy feelings for you, but I think all God can really expect from me at this point is a promise I won't leave you bloody in a ditch following a car accident without calling 911.  If you want to say things like this in public, you should be pastoring that church with your husband.  You should not be a politician.  You only represent the ever narrowing segment of the population who thinks like this and thinks it should be public policy.  Oh you can't?  That pesky vagina and your church's doctrine's getting in the way?  Start a blog.

Or shut the hell up and get out of government.
