ANEW REJUVENATE Mineral Facial Rinse-Off Treatment

As masks go, this one is pretty cool.

First:  Hands in goopy mineral goop free application.  Behold!!!

I noticed in the reviews on the webstore that some people had trouble with the brush.   I've used it twice and I haven't had any problem.  The instructions say to wipe the brush off when you're done and not use water.     I have to wonder if they wiped it off thoroughly and followed the instructions about water.    One user suggests switching the tube to off and hosing it down in VERY HOT water.

I may have to try that if it goes cakeville on me.  I do, however, LOVE that I do not have to touch the icky clay mask.  That makes me happy.   I also like that it rinses off clean.  You do not have to scrub, soak, peel, or otherwise wrestle this stuff off your face.   Unlike the waterproof mascara Avon makes, it does not take an act of violence (or the right tool) to get this off your face.   The effect is cleaned out pores, skin feeling softer and tighter, and even though I wouldn't swear to it, I think my pores even look smaller.

Overall, I like it.  I will use it again.  I will also update this if it goes cakey on me.

ANEW REJUVENATE 24 Hour Eye Moisturizer SPF 25

My eye cream story begins with one too many people telling me I look tired.   I was having a bad week.  A bad  health month really.   First my boss tells me I look tired, then a coworker, and finally, the final straw, a gay man at church.   That was it.  I was in the eye cream market.

To be honest, I could have punched Ralph.   I did look tired though.  I admit it.  I had shadows under eyes.  I looked a bit tired.  So I went across the street to Evans Drugstore and bought a greasy concealer.    I didn't like it.  It blended with my eye makeup featherings to create a 'corpse tone' look under my eyes.  Naturally, I chunked it.  I went on to some stuff Walgreens.  It was a nice moisturizer but that was about it. Neutrogena?  Nice, but not what I was looking for.  I finally started patting base under my eyes and letting it set a few minutes before I rubbed it in.  It helps.

I'm back to eye cream again.  ANEW REJUVENATE 24 Hour Eye Moisturizer SPF 25 is really nice.  The night cream is a little thicker and has no SPF.  The day cream side has a nice light feel that glides over your skin.   They both make a nice addition in the battle of "Don't EVER tell me I look tired again!"  (Unless it's because my allergies have made me look like Rudolph the Red Nosed Insurance Lady or I'm deathly ill and you want me to go home where I can't infect anyone.  Then you will be forgiven.)

Avon Eyeshadow Primer

I love eyeshadow primer.   My first encounter with it was when I was selling Mary Kay years ago and I didn't think much of it. I thought less of it after a few days of wearing it when I developed a red line on the crease of my eye lid.  I stopped using it.   My skin is at the odd point where I do need a moisturizer, but I sweat... a lot, especially in the summer, and it seems to replenish itself rather quickly because I can scrap a layer a day off my lips.  EVERY day in the shower.  Hair grows fast, lip stains don't last as long as they're marketed to...

Point being, I'm girl that makeup slides right off my face in the right conditions and with the wrong makeup.   I'm also a girl who loves eye makeup.  I have a blood vessel that shows on my eye lids from when I got bit by a fiddle back spider as a child too.    I need to wear base on my eyelids if I don't want that to show, even if I don't feel up to eye makeup.  I gave Avon's eye primer a chance on whim.  I had retried Mary Kay's eye primer and that red line came back.  I knew I needed to stop using it.  So when is saw the eye primer from Avon on sale for $3.99, I said "Why not? L'Oreal Eye primer that you like costs $12.00."

I love the Avon Eyeshadow primer.  Love it.  It goes on smooth, comes in a nice open pot that you can control how much you get on your finger or applicator, and it makes my eye makeup stay on longer.   I didn't have a voice by the time Midnight Mass was over Christmas Eve, but my makeup still looked FABULOUS.

Anew Rejuvinate Face Wash and Day Cream

I want to start by saying I don't/didn't think I really needed wrinkle cream.   I'm sure this is going to sound strange coming from a woman, and from an Avon product rep no less, but I'm happier with my skin now than I've ever been in my life.   I don't feel a need to cake my face with makeup, pimples are under control, and I think I look okay.

I bought the Anew Rejuvenate Face Wash by Avon because it was on sale.   I wasn't really happy with what I was using because it had granules in it and I'm realistic: The skin around my eyes is not going to get any younger.   It's thin and delicate and it will eventually wrinkle.   I am also far too lazy to not wash my entire face at once.  That requires forethought...  early in the morning before I've had any coffee.  I was surprised at how little of the Anew face wash I needed and I was even more surprised at how good it felt on my skin.  It really was refreshing.   It felt a little like washing with rosemary mint shampoo but on my face---and not quite as much mint.  It exfoliates when you wash with it and my pores do actually look smaller.   Not too bad for $10 regular price and definitely not more than I would spend at the grocery store.

After trying the face wash, I found the Anew Rejuvenate Day Revitalizing Cream by Avon on sale. I wasn't too sure about this one at first.  It felt little too revitalizing to begin with.  I don't know if I was having an off skin day or what.  After a few uses though, I love it.  It feels good on my skin.  It's not too heavy, not too light and makes a nice foundation for base.   It's less moderately priced than the face wash, regular price is $30, but it seems to go on sale on a semi-regular basis.  For instance, right now, through January 21st at least, you can buy one Anew product by Avon and get one for $5.   Depending on what you buy, that's a $25 savings, better if you use the serum and night cream products.
